We are all individuals, but in some job roles it is important to have your own views and be able to express them with confidence.

In creative work, individuality is particularly valuable. It is the ability to see things from a new and original viewpoint. It’s the inspiring knack that some people have to come up with a solution that nobody else has thought of.

In some jobs, individuality is not appreciated. If other members of your team rely on you to do your job in a particular way, they will not be happy if you ignore the rules.

Are you naturally a rebel or a conformist? Think about how this could affect your choice of career – and how much you are prepared to change to get the job you really want.
